Following the game, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed for the media that Robertson's injury was expected to be longer-term and that he would definitely miss significant time. Very unfortunate for a prospect like Robertson, who has all the potential in the world, but just can't seem to remain healthy, through no fault of his own.
Robertson underwent an MRI on Friday to determine the extent of the damage and after receiving the results this morning, Keefe has confirmed that Robertson will be sidelined no less than 4-8 weeks.
Tough loss for the Leafs and a tough break for Robertson, though it could have been much, much worse. Had Robertson opted for surgery, his recovery time would have been 4+ months and would have cost him the entire season. At least with his 4-8 week rehab & recovery time, he'll have a chance to play again this season.
If Robertson ends up on the lengthier end of the recovery timeline, that will mean he'll be out until the middle of February. Hopefully by that point, he'll be close to 100% and can work his way back into the Leafs' lineup to get back up to speed before the playoffs.
