After a slew of Maple Leafs players and personnel had been placed in COVID-19 protocol this weekend on their western road swing, it complicated travel for the team, leaving some wondering whether or not players would be able to make it home in time for the holidays.

Leafs GM Kyle Dubas was saying all the right things, and appeared committed to ensuring that players could return home to Toronto, even if it meant chartering additional flights back so that players in protocol could be separated from those who were not.
On Monday, The Hockey News' David Alter has confirmed that the Leafs players and staff have all made it back to Toronto safely and are all currently in isolation in their homes.
It's definitely to hear some good news on that front, and while all team activities are paused until after the Christmas break, it's better that the team is getting the COVID-19 situation under control at all team facilities so that the team can come back strong after the holidays and hopefully put the latest outbreak behind them.
