Maple Leafs hockey is finally back tonight, when the Buds take on the Ottawa Senators in a double-header at 1pm and again at 7pm, with both games taking place in Toronto. However, each game will have a different Leafs roster.

Most notably, the core four is split with Mitch Marner, William Nylander and John Tavares taking the ice in the afternoon while Auston Matthews won't play until the evening. However, Matthews still has some high-profile teammates for the night.

Michael Bunting, Morgan Rielly and Nick Robertson will all be on the ice with Matthews. The evening game will also be the first game fans will see Ilya Samsonov wearing blue and white since his signing this offseason.

Despite the fact that the preseason does not actually mean anything regarding numbers and stats, it's still a great way to see the guys warm up as they prepare for the upcoming season. After the double-header, the Leafs have five more preseason games leading up to opening night on October 12th in Montreal.
