After recovering from off-season surgery, Joseph Woll returned to game action a couple short months ago for the Toronto Marlies. In 14 games, Woll has posted a 13-1 record with a 2.36 GAA and .930 save percentage. With Matt Murray now on IR for a few weeks, Woll is now getting a second opportunity with the Leafs after surpassing Erik Kallgren on the depth chart.

Will played 4 games for the Leafs last season before getting hurt where he went 3-1 with a 2.76GAA and .911 save percentage. Today, as the Leafs prepare for the second half of a back-to-back, home-and-home with Columbus, Woll commented on his upcoming start tonight.

"Ever since I was drafted by Toronto, you dream of playing in front of the home crowd. It will be pretty special. I'm excited to play in that atmosphere. I haven't had a ton of opportunities playing in front of a massive crowd cheering for you. I've had some experiences at World Juniors where they were cheering for Canada. It feels like I'm always on the other end of the big crowd."

The third round pick from 2016 has yet to play a game for the Leafs at Scotiabank Arena, but will get that opportunity tonight. The Leafs played a fantastic game in front of Ilya Samsonov last night, who posted a shutout, so hopefully the Leafs can do the same thing for Woll.
