Today the NHL announced changes to 5 games including two Leafs/Islanders games, which will essentially see the home teams flipped with the dates of both meetings remaining the same. The Leafs were scheduled to host the Islanders on January 22nd, but that game will now be taking place at UBS Arena on Long Island. Conversely, the Leafs were scheduled to be on the road against the Islanders April 17th. That game will now take place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
The postponements are a result of the capacity restrictions that are currently in place in Canada. The Leafs are currently playing with no fans and because of the business aspect, the league is shuffling around certain games. The Leafs next scheduled game is Wednesday night as the Leafs take on the Edmonton Oilers.
After tomorrow's matchup against the Oilers in Toronto, the Leafs will have just two home games for the remainder of the month of January. The Buds will host the Devils at Scotiabank Arena on the 17th and then the Ducks on the 26th.
