While there's plenty to be down on the Leafs about on Friday, the team did reveal some good news ahead of the weekend, announcing that they've signed a recent draft pick to a 3-year entry-level contract.
Per the team's official announcement on Friday afternoon, 2023 6th round draft pick, Noah Chadwick, has officially signed his ELC.
The 6'4 left-shot blueliner already possesses NHL size at over 200 lbs, but is still a few years away from challenging for an NHL gig. After being drafted 185th overall in this past summer's draft, Chadwick came into his 2023-24 season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes (WHL) on a mission, already having bested last year's goal and assist totals in less than half the time.
Last season, Chadwick notched 5 goals and 15 assists for a total of 20 points in 67 games. This year, however, through just 30 games, Chadwick has already posted 7 goals and 17 assists, totaling 24 points. Chadwick's 24 points are good for 4th in team scoring. His 7 goals are tied for 5th on the team.
At just 18 years of age, Chadwick still likely has one more year at the junior level before making the jump to the pro level, though that path will likely take him through the ECHL and the AHL before he ever receives some NHL consideration.
