"The Maple Leafs organization is very thankful to the University of Connecticut. Ryan's development through his three seasons with the Huskies and subsequent signing today is a testament to the tireless work of head coach Mike Cavanaugh and all the staff within the UConn men's hockey program," said Kyle Dubas following the signing of Tverberg.
Tverberg will join the the Leafs' AHL affiliate the Toronto Marlies for the remainder of the season on an amateur try-out contract. His entry-level contract begins next season with a cap hit of $851K per season.
