The Leafs have secured some depth for the next two season, signing forward Kyle Clifford to a multi-year contract extension and defenseman Carl Dahlstrom to a one-year contract extension.

Clifford's deal will pay him $762,000 in 2022-23 and 2023-24. He's played over 700 NHL games between the Leafs, Kings, and Blues and won two Stanley Cups as a member of the Kings. Clifford provides toughness to the Leafs and Marlies while providing some veteran leadership and good depth for the next two years.

Meanwhile, Dahlstrom has signed an extension to remain with the team through 2022-23. He's appeared in 1 game for the Leafs this season and he can play in the NHL if the Leafs find themselves in a pinch. His two-way extension pays him $750,000 if he's in the NHL.

Neither signings are big moves for the Leafs but it's two veterans with NHL experience that can contribute in the AHL and play in a pinch if the Leafs run into injury troubles. Both players carry have cap hits that can be buried if they're in the AHL.

Just some tidy business for Kyle Dubas to ensure they have depth if needed.
