First, the Leafs welcomed back Jordie Benn into the regular rotation, who skated next to Timothy Liljegren in the absence of Rasmus Sandin after the young Swede left left last night's game with a reported neck injury. Benn will likely slot into the lineup for Thursday's game as Sheldon Keefe said Sandin needs more time to be re-evaluated.
Newest Leaf, Dryden Hunt also took part in his first practice with the Leafs today. He was seen wearing a regular jersey and skated on a line with Pontus Holmberg and Joey Anderson, which led to Zach Aston-Reese taking the ice in an "extras" grey jersey. It was a bit of a surprise to see ZAR join Wayne Simmonds as a scratch, but Keefe clarified the reasoning following practice, saying that it was to get Hunt more acclimated to the team and systems.
Other than Benn taking Sandin's place there appear to be no lineup changes for Thursday night's game against the Flyers - the Leafs' last contest before the Christmas break.
