New York Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello has finally awoken from his summer hibernation and has announced a trio of deals for the Isles on Monday, starting with a 3-year pact for newly acquired Alexander Romanov.

Romanov was acquired by the Islanders at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft last month in exchange for the Isles' 2022 1st round pick. The Islanders also received a 4th in the deal.

According to NHL Insider Chris Johnston, Romanov's new deal carries a $2.5M cap hit.

The second deal from Lamoriello was for defenseman Noah Dobson, who also agreed to a 3-year term. The AAV is reportedly $4M per season for Dobson.

Dobson put together a very nice season for himself, despite the Isles' struggles last season. He scored a career high 13 goals in 2021-22, adding 38 assists for 51 points in 80 games - both of which were also career highs. Dobson was the Isles' first round pick in 2018.

The third of the 3 deals belongs to Kieffer Bellows, but unlike the deals for Romanov and Dobson, which were both 3-year pacts, Bellows' new deal is a 1-year deal. It'll be a $1.2M cap hit for the 2016 1st round pick.

Bellows played 45 games for the Islanders last season, potting 6 goals and adding 13 assists for 19 points over that span. The 24-year-old has a lot to prove to the Isles this season. Perhaps a 1-year deal is for the best. Betting on yourself is not a bad thing when you trust in your abilities.
