Luke Schenn lands bone-jarring hit on Ryan Lomberg
Last night's Leafs/Panthers game was a high-scoring affair, and I'm sure you'd be happy if you had bet the over. A total of 8 goals were scored in the game, but unfortunately for the Panthers, 6 of them were scored by the Leafs, en route to a 6-2 finish.
While he wasn't exactly involved in the offensive game, Luke Schenn made his presence felt physically in this one, landing a massive hit on Florida's Ryan Lomberg in the late stages of the third period. Known to his teammates and fans as "The Human Eraser", Schenn lived up to the name when he angled off Lomberg and absolutely pasted him into the boards.
These types of plays are going to be helpful for the Leafs come playoff time. Schenn has built his career around hits like this one and as the games get tougher and more vigorously contested in the playoffs, the Buds are going to rely on Schenn to bring this type of physicality each and every night.
