The Colorado Avalanche have officially punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals. Not only that, but they have absolutely dominated their competition and have only lost two, both against the St. Louis Blues in round 2, and sweeping both the Nashville Predators and the Edmonton Oilers in rounds 1 and 3, respectively. This may be one of the most incredible playoff runs in recent memory and nobody can say they don't deserve their spot in the Finals.

Despite having just swept the Oilers on Monday, the Avs weren't focused on their series win. They were fixated on what comes next; the pursuit of a Stanley Cup. Still, before they could turn the page on round 3, there was still the matter of the Clarence S. Campbell Trophy presentation. But - the question on everyone's minds; would they touch it?

Avs captain Gabriel Landeskog had the following to say about the Clarence S. Campbell Trophy and the Avs' pursuit of glory in the next round:

It's not the one we came for, and it doesn't really mean that much to us

In the end, Avs GM Joe Sakic made his way down the tunnel and to the bench where he appeared to tell his team to "just touch the damn thing", and obviously, they did. The Avalanche are only the second team since '06-'07 to touch the trophy, with the last one being the '17-'18 Vegas Golden Knights. The Anaheim Ducks touched the trophy in '06-'07 and went onto win The Stanley Cup.
