According to reports coming directly from Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe this weekend, several Leafs are playing through some minor injuries. One of those players was T.J. Brodie, who was scratched on Sunday in favour of the newly acquired Conor Timmins, who scored his first career NHL goal against the Flyers in Philadelphia.

Following the game, Keefe revealed that Brodie was considered day-to-day and may benefit from an extra couple of days off. On Tuesday, the Leafs placed Brodie on Injured Reserve, which means he'll miss no less than 7 days.

The Leafs also announced on Tuesday morning that they have recalled forward Bobby McMann from their affiliate Toronto Marlies. The 26-year-old has 15 points (8 goals & 7 assists) in 17 games with the Toronto Marlies this season. He also brings speed and a strong worth ethic that could make him an ideal fit for the bottom six if he does indeed get a look during his call-up.

McMann was never drafted into the NHL, nor has he played a game in the league. He spent four years at Colgate University and has been in the Maple Leafs organization for the past three seasons. Last year was his first full season with the Marlies, and he scored 24 goals in 65 games with the team, setting the team's rookie goal scoring record. He was also named AHL Player of the Week last week after producing 6 points in just 3 games.
