There's been a lot of question marks surrounding Marc-Andre Fleury's future in the NHL, especially when the 2021 Vezina Trophy winner was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in the summer. Now, the Minnesota Wild netminder, who's currently gearing up for a playoff run, has hinted on how much longer he sees himself playing.
«I would like to play at least another season. I decided that recently I still love to play, I still have fun, my body is still holding up most of the time. So yes, another season and then we will see after.»
Fleury is having a good season despite being 37-years-old. Between his time with the Blackhawks and Wild this season, he has a 25-22-5 record but .910 save percentage.
Fleury is an unrestricted free agent this summer and based on what he's said, it seems like he'll sign a 1 year contract somewhere this summer. Whether that is in Minnesota or elsewhere is a question for the summer.
