A major trade to announce involving the Chicago Blackhawks and Central Division rival Minnesota Wild which will see Marc-Andre Fleury move to Minnesota, with Fleury agreeing to waive his NTC.

Fleury has been at or near the top of a lot of teams' wish lists since it was rumoured that he could be available at the deadline. The Wild's sticking point on Fleury was that they did not want to move a 1st round pick, while the Hawks were really pushing for a 1st. In the end, the two sides agreed to make the swap for a conditional 2nd rounder that can become a 1st.

Fleury, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner is an absolute difference maker for any team and no doubt provides the Wild with an upgrade in goal.

We should expect the Wild to move a goaltender now that they currently have three on the roster.
