After being held off the scoresheet Tuesday night against Buffalo, it didn't take Auston Matthews long to to join an elite club. Less than 5 minutes into the first, Matthews picked up the puck off the boards and dished it off to Mitch Marner who found Michael Bunting on the far side to end a 17-game goal scoring drought and giving the Leafs a 1-0 lead.

Matthews reached the 100-point plateau in his 69th game, joining only Darryl Sittler and Doug Gilmore as the only Leafs to ever hit 100 points in a season. Both Sittler and Gilmore accomplished the feat twice. Sittler did it in 75/76 and 77/78 while Gilmore did it in back to back seasons in 92/93 and 93/94.

Marner was quick to scoop up the game puck and bring it over to the Leafs' bench to hand it off to the team's equipment manager. That's a special one for Matthews for sure.
