The start to Domi's tenure in Toronto wasn't the fairytale that many hoped it would be. With just 4 points through his first 11 games, Domi left a lot to be desired before being shifted to center on the 3rd line. What he's done since then has really boosted his stock with the team and the fanbase.
Domi has racked up 5 points in his last 7 games and while he didn't produce any points against the Red Wings or Wild while in Stockholm, Sweden for the Global Series, he has shown a ton of promise as the Leafs' new 3rd line center. In fact, Sportsnet Stats just reported that Domi currently sits 2nd in points (9) among all players averaging under 13:05 per game, just behind Carolina's Stefan Noesen (10 points while averaging 11:32 TOI).
Aside from his scoring, Domi has also fired 21 pucks on goal, won 51.9% of his faceoffs and is currently an even 0 +/- rating. While he doesn't have a goal yet this season through 17 games, the longest drought of his career, Domi has had a number of good looks this season and it's only a matter of time until the puck begins to go in for him.
