In the summer, Max Domi signed a 1-year, $3M deal with the rebuilding Chicago Blackhawks. At just 27, Domi looked to the deal with the Hawks as a "prove it" type of deal as he heads to free agency at seasons end where he will be hoping to cash in on a lengthy new contract.

Domi was traded from Columbus to Carolina at the trade deadline last season, in the hopes of helping Carolina's bid for the Stanley Cup. Unfortunately, things did not work out in Carolina as Domi had just 7 points in 19 regular season games and 6 points in 14 playoff games. While he finds himself on one of the worst teams in the league in Chicago, he is seizing the opportunity to increase his value and will likely be dealt again at this year's deadline. He has 21 points in 31 games so far for the Hawks and is one of the few veterans on the team.

Today, Domi was asked about his plans for the upcoming Christmas break and although the Hawks aren't having a good season, Domi is enjoying his time in the "Windy City" saying he's "pretty excited" and that his whole family is in town before throwing some shade at Columbus. On the subject, Domi said, "I was in Columbus for two years, so I didn't get many visitors. All of a sudden I'm in a nice city, so my whole family wants to come. I don't know if it's me or the city."

An unnecessary shot at the city of Columbus, but hilarious nonetheless, Domi certainly takes after his dad when it comes to the one-liners. You can only wonder what the players in Columbus will have to say when they are asked about Domi's comments.
