Max and Tie Domi have it out on the golf course during a round of off-season golf
While Max Domi waits for free agency to begin barring any last minute extension with the Dallas Stars, he and his Leafs legend father Tie Domi are enjoying their summer on the golf course. Domi is coming off of a 20-goal, 56 point season and is due a raise from the $3M he earned last season, thanks in part to a weak free agent class and his performance.
As he figures out what he wants to do, he has been giving his followers on Instagram an inside look at where he gets his competitiveness from while golfing with his dad. Max posted a lengthy clip to Instagram arguing with his dad about how many shots and golf balls he lost as Tie is preparing to hit his second shot.
Many know that when someone is in their backswing it's courtesy to not make noise. That "rule" is usually thrown out the window when myself and my buddies play, but it was also thrown out the window by Max as he proceeded to put the cart in reverse as Tie was swinging. It's a classic on the golf course, just like opening a beer or rattling keys and usually always works. We don't see where Tie's shot ended up but it didn't look too bad when he made contact.
There are some circles that would love to see Max Domi come to Toronto during free agency this summer and don the blue and white just like his dad did for so many years. As long as the ask isn't too outrageous, I firmly believe that there's a chance that it finally happens.
