There was a lot of excitement from Leafs Nation when Michael Bunting and Ondrej Kase stepped onto the ice on Sunday wearing regular jerseys. While Kase still appears to be a few days away, his presence on the ice as a full participant was encouraging. Bunting, however, left practice early.

Originally, it was thought that Bunting would be good to go for Game 1 on Monday night at Scotiabank Arena. Now, a lot of fans and members of the media are not sure what to think. Could Bunting be held out for Game 1, just to ensure he's as close to 100% as possible for Game 2 on Wednesday?

Another possibility is that, much like the Leafs often do with Campbell, they're allowing Bunting to leave early as a way of modifying and managing his workload, knowing that the style of game that he plays will require a lot more rest than the rest of the guys.

I would imagine we'll have some sort of an update following practice today or Monday's optional morning skate ahead of Game 1 against the Bolts. Hopefully the Scarborough, ON native did not suffer some sort of a setback with his injury.
