Woll ended up getting clipped by Eddie Wittchow of the Hersey Bears in the second period of today's game. With the injury to Woll, the Leafs goaltending depth is certainly lacking with Woll joining Jack Campbell on the shelf.
Marlies Head Coach, Greg Moore said that "there's no prognosis" when asked about Woll's injury, but with Erik Kallgren already up with the Leafs in Campbell's absence, the Marlies and the Leafs are hoping that it's not as bad as it looked.
Woll has had a decent season with the Marlies, posting a 6-7 record with a .907 save percentage. Woll enjoyed a cup of coffee in the NHL earlier this season, appearing in 4 games for the Leafs were he had a 3-1 record and a .911 save percentage.
The Leafs have Carter Hutton's NHL rights, but he's currently on loan with the Coyotes' AHL affiliate. There was a handshake deal in place at the time of the Leafs' trade for the Thunder Bay, Ontario native that stated that he was purely goaltending insurance for the playoffs and that he and his family would not need to relocate to Toronto otherwise.
I'd imagine that the Marlies will recall Keith Petruzzelli from the ECHL's Newfoundland Growlers at some point in the next day or so if the prognosis on Woll is not good.
