He's been voted to the All-Star Game more often than not in his career but, Sidney Crosby made just his fifth All-Star appearance this past weekend. Often missing past weekends due to injury or just wanting the break to rest for the playoffs, Sid has now embraced going again as his time in the league begins to wind down. At 35, Sid still looks like he has plenty of gas in the tank to hang around until he's at least 40, but with already accomplishing everything a player could hope to accomplish in his career, it will likely come down to whether or not he still has the desire to play.

This past weekend, the players from the younger generation that grew up watching Crosby were able to have a once in a lifetime opportunity to rub elbows with Sid on a personal level in a friendly setting. Many of those players had nothing but kind words to say about his legacy, with most saying they're still "fan-boying" and "intimidated" when talking to him.

"He's a guy you grew up watching and looking up to. Not only his game, but the leadership off the ice and all that. So to be able to see him, have some conversations with him over this weekend - it kind of makes you feel like a fanboy again," said Brady Tkachuk.

Nick Suzuki said, "He's really, really well spoken. Down to earth guy. Probably doesn't know how big of an idol he is to everyone around him. So it's cool to see that, just how humble he is. And he works extremely hard, so he's a great guy to learn from."

Johnny Gaudreau admitted it still intimidates him sometimes when he sees Crosby saying, "It's awesome to be around him. Kind of intimidating sometimes, but just such a normal guy and was just chatting with him throughout the weekend, sitting next to him in the skills and then the game. It's just great to be around him."

While fellow Cole Harbour native and Stanley Cup Champ Nathan MacKinnon was more relaxed and had this to say about Crosby, "Obviously, he's a pretty famous guy, but he is just my friend. Just a good person to be around, a fun guy to be around."

Of course, his long-time division rival, Alexander Ovechkin, had to weigh in on Sid's career and playing against him all these years as well. Ovi offered a different answer when asked about Crosby and his career saying, "I'm pretty sure when me and him are retired, we're just gonna have a couple beers together and talk about the whole thing and what happened in the past 15, 16 years."

With 1157 games and 1469 points in his career so far, there are still a couple of milestones left for Crosby to hit, but having won at every level, he will undoubtedly be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he does decide to call it a career. Until then, we will continue to get to watch one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
