Per Friedman, the Caps could look to deal forward
Anthony Mantha in a deal for Boeser. He mentions that Mantha has not been an ideal fit for Washington after the Caps swung a deal to acquire him from the Detroit Red Wings sending Jakob Vrana back the other way during the 2020-21 season. He also mentioned that Mantha is someone the Canucks could be interested in, given the fact that his cap hit ($5.7M) is lower than Boeser's and he only has one year left on his deal as opposed to two, so if Mantha doesn't quite fit in Vancouver, they'll either be able to trade him or just allow him to walk a year sooner than Boeser's contract would expire.
