During Saturday's All-Star coverage, just prior to the Finals matchup between the Metropolitan Division and the Central Division, Friedman had stated that the asking price from teams for a top-4 defensemen is similar to what David Savard went for at last year's trade deadline - a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder.
Obviously, we've heard the names Ben Chiarot and John Klingberg come up in trade conversation in recent weeks, and while Friedman didn't specify those two names, they certainly fit the criteria. Klingberg is likely to fetch the higher return between the two.
It goes without saying that defensemen with term remaining like Jakob Chychrun or Damon Severson are likely to bring in a much stronger return for their respective GM's.
