Per Seravalli, it's not so much a matter of "if" Chicago Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat is traded this summer. It's more a matter of when the 24-year-old sniper is dealt. There will certainly be a ton of interest in DeBrincat this offseason, and rightfully so. He matched a career-high 41 goals this season and set a new career high with 78 points in 82 games. My guess is that there will be 31 teams lined up for DeBrincat's services.
DeBrincat was a 2nd round pick (39th overall) by the Blackhawks back in 2016, but was undoubtedly a first-round talent in his draft year. Many scouts and draft experts had DeBrincat pegged as a late first rounder, but due to his size (now 5'7, 165 lbs), he slipped far enough for the Hawks to laugh their way to the bank. Now they'll be doing so again with the king's ransom of picks and prospects they'll likely bring in in any trade involving DeBrincat.
Per Seravalli, DeBrincat tops a list of trade candidates that contains the likes of J.T. Miller (VAN), Jakob Chychrun (ARI), Kevin Fiala (MIN) and John Gibson (ANA) - all players who have been mentioned multiple times in trade rumours heading into this offseason.
