By all appearances, this offseason is going to be one to remember. This summer, we could see multiple high-value UFA's who have played their entire careers with one NHL organization sign in new cities, we could see multiple offer sheets signed by high profile players and, as Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli points out, we are likely to see a two-time 40-goal scorer traded.
DeBrincat was a 2nd round pick (39th overall) by the Blackhawks back in 2016, but was undoubtedly a first-round talent in his draft year. Many scouts and draft experts had DeBrincat pegged as a late first rounder, but due to his size (now 5'7, 165 lbs), he slipped far enough for the Hawks to laugh their way to the bank. Now they'll be doing so again with the king's ransom of picks and prospects they'll likely bring in in any trade involving DeBrincat.
