With storms sweeping through Michigan, New York and Southern Ontario at the moment, the NHL has made an announcement this afternoon ahead of tonight's matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena that will impact the game.
The league opting to change the start time start is due to the Detroit Red Wings travel to Toronto being affected by the weather, per TSN's Chris Johnston. The delays made it essential for the NHL to push the game back a minimum of thirty minutes for everything to run smoothly.
With both teams having played last night, the Leafs should still have a bit of an advantage here, given the fact that Detroit is the traveling team and, as many of us are aware, travel can take a bit of a toll on the body.
