This is one of the most disappointing things to have to write about in the year 2022, but here we are again with ignorant racist gestures being thrown around casually during a hockey game in front of thousands of people.

On Saturday, both P.K. and Jordan Subban took to social media to show the ugly side of hockey. The side where, if your skin is darker than the rest, you're subject to offensive gestures, racial slurs and other disgusting behavior of that nature.

During an ECHL game on Saturday, Jordan Subban tried to convince Jacob Panetta to drop the gloves, but Panetta, an unwilling combatant, instead adjusted his posture and directed "ape arms" at Subban, who went right after him as a result.

This is so disappointing, and clearly guys haven't learned from the Jalen Smereck situation in the Ukranian League, or the more recent 30-game suspension handed out to an AHLer for a similar gesture directed at Boko Imama during a minor league game.

Hopefully the ECHL makes an example of Panetta, who has already deleted his social media accounts to avoid having to face the backlash of his actions.
