Officials screw Leafs out of a 1st period powerplay after Nylander clearly interfered with in front of referee

Moments after the Florida Panthers took a 1-0 lead over the Leafs, Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad took a bit of a run at William Nylander and (accidentally on purpose) knocked Nylander on his backside. Normally this is a pretty clear cut interference penalty, especially with the official standing right there. However, no arm went up.

This is a pretty obvious interference call. I really don't understand the logic behind not making the call here. Ekblad took Nylander entirely out of the play and the puck was nowhere near Nylander.

Throughout the course of this year, and especially in these playoffs, we've heard an awful lot about the officiating. There have been a number of pretty clear cut, egregious penalties that have gone uncalled, and this one is right up there with the most egregious.

Should the referee have called a penalty on Ekblad for this collision with Nylander?
