The Leafs have managed to avoid having Wes McCauley call a deciding game once again tonight for Game 5. Instead, the Leafs and Panthers will be officiated by Kyle Rehman and Jean Hebert. Rehman and Hebert recently worked Game 3 of the Vegas and Edmonton series together. The pairing has been together since the beginning of the playoffs and worked Game 5 of the Leafs and Lightning series where the Leafs lost 4-2, but the pair have not officiated the Panthers yet this post-season.

In games officiated by Rehman over the past three seasons, the Leafs are 5-0 while the Panthers are 8-4. Under Hebert, the Leafs are 4-0-1 while the Panthers are 12-4. In the playoffs however, the home team is 3-5 when one of or both Rehman and Hebert are officiating the game and with the Leafs a mere 1-4 on home ice this playoffs, it would seem a difficult task just got a little more difficult.

The pair will be joined by David Brisebois and Bevan Mills as linesmen. Neither of which have been a linesman for the Leafs yet this post-season. However, Brisebois did work game 7 of the Panthers and Bruins series last round.
