Oilers fans relentlessly mock an 8-year-old kid during a game, show absolutely no class
On Monday, the Pittsburgh Penguins were in Edmonton and lost 6-3 to the hometown Oilers, but what should have been an enjoyable outing quickly turned it into a terrible experience for an 8-year-old, thanks to two idiotic Oilers fans.
The 8-year-old is a Penguins fan and showed up to the game wearing his Sidney Crosby jersey. All he wanted to do was watch his or one of his favourite players the only time Crosby will be in town this year. According to the initial post on Facebook, the two grown men depicted berated the kid the entire game, mocking him as he sat in front of them in his Crosby jersey, trying to enjoy the game. The unnecessary and constant antagonizing led to the child being in tears for most of the game and ruined he and his family's evening out.
Stay classy Oilers fans. These two guys need to give their heads a shake because no one in their right mind would pick on an 8-year-old for wearing his favourite player's jersey. Maybe they meant it all in good fun, but you have to read the room and when a child is upset, maybe you should simply stop talking - or even better, apologize.
