He is already the greatest European goal scorer to ever play in the NHL and when he retires he may end up as the greatest goal scorer of all time, but for now Alex Ovechkin continues to put himself in the record books.

Last night he gave the Caps a 2-1 lead from his office on the Powerplay where he's scored hundreds of goals over the years. That goal was his 48th of the season and put him in some elite company as he tied the Finnish Flash Teemu Selanne for most goals by a player aged 36 or older.

On top of tying Teemu, Ovie also joined Joe Sakic, Brendan Shanahan and Marian Hossa as the only players in league history to score 10+ goals against 28 different franchises. For Ovie, two of the three teams he hasn't scored 10+ goals against are Vegas and Seattle which haven't been in the league all that long and the third team is Arizona, which provided Ovie with possibly the greatest goal ever scored.
