The Leafs have had their fair share of bounces in their favour this season but were on the wrong end of one last night. Early in the second period of last nights game, the Islanders took a 2-1 lead off of a lucky bounce or two.

As the play developed and the puck made its way to the front of the net Kerfoot attempted to deflect the puck away and play it into the corner. Unfortunately, it deflected off his stick and passed a sprawled out Campbell to give the Islanders the lead. Post game, Kerfoot acknowledged that it was his fault and said he "owed him (Campbell) one." It's always respectable when a teammate acknowledges something was their fault, but Campbell would have none of it saying, "I thought I messed it up with my paddle. I'll take the blame for that one".

It's not very often teammates disagree on who is at fault for a goal against, let alone an own goal. Normally when asked about them players give the cliche "just a bad bounce" answer, so it's refreshing to hear both Kerfoot and Campbell take blame for it. If there's one thing we've learned about the Leafs this season, is that they are a tight knit group and are always willing to stand up for each other.
