Petr Mrazek's first season in Toronto left much to be desired, and that's putting it mildly. The 30-year-old netminder put together the worst season in his career by a mile this season, posting a 3.34 GAA to go along with a .888 SV% through 18 starts, providing the Leafs with almost none of what they paid for, save a 4-game stretch in January, where he put up a 3-1 record with a .921 SV%.

There has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not the Leafs will get Mrazek another shot to prove that he can be a viable option for them next season or ship him out and bring in a replacement for the 2022-23 season - most hoping for the latter.

Well, according to a report from The Athletic's James Mirtle, the Leafs have reached a decision on Mrazek. Per Mirtle, the Buds have no interest in running it back with Mrazek.

Obviously, with two seasons remaining at $3.8M per season, Mrazek's deal may be difficult to move unless the Leafs offer up a pick or a prospect as a sweetener for a team to take on the deal. The other option, of course, is to buy out his contract, which would save the Leafs significant cap space this season and next, but would have them on the hook for $1.433M in dead cap space in 2024-25 and again in 2025-26.

Either way, at least we know we won't have to endure watching Mrazek swim in the crease and over-commit one way or the other on plays next season - which is solid news.
