The Philidelphia Flyers have made quite a few moves over the past year, with the trading of former captain Claude Giroux to the Florida Panthers in March, the acquisition of Tony DeAngelo in the summer and John Tortorella becoming head coach. However, the moves don't end there.

The New York Islanders placed Kieffer Bellows on waivers yesterday, and it didn't take long for the Flyers to claim him. Last season, Bellows put up 19 points in 45 games played, a career-high for the 24-year-old winger. However, he's been a healthy scratch this season and played only one game with the Islanders, not collecting any points before being placed on waivers.

The Flyers are currently 4-2-0 this season, making them tied for third place in the Metropolitan Division with eight points alongside the Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers. They take on the Panthers in Florida tonight.
