Rasmus Sandin drops the gloves with Oliver Wahlstrom after questionable hit on Auston Matthews
He isn't the biggest guy on the ice, but that hasn't stopped Rasmus Sandin from being a physical presence. Somewhat surprisingly, Sandin leads the Leafs in hits and tonight, he added a fight to his resume as well.
Midway through the third period, Oliver Wahlstrom clipped Auston Matthews with a knee, which could've been much worse had Matthews not seen it at the last second. Matthews was able to get right back up, but Sandin immediately went after Wahlstrom to stand up for Matthews.
Sandin ate a couple of punches but landed the takedown in his first career fight. For his efforts, Sandin got a standing ovation from the Leafs faithful and shin taps from Mark Giordano and Auston Matthews.
