I'm sure some of you were already well aware, but for those who were not, Leafs defenseman Rasmus Sandin has a brother who is with the Philadelphia Flyers organization.

It's something that's flown under the radar, but Sandin's older brother, Linus, is 26 and has spent the last two seasons with the Flyers' AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Linus Sandin even suited up in one NHL game for the Flyers last season.

Well, it would appear as though Sandin's time with the Flyers is coming to an abrupt end as TSN's Chris Johnston is reporting that Linus Sandin has been placed on waivers and will have his contract terminated by the Flyers. This likely means he'll head back to Sweden to continue his pro hockey career back home.

Linus Sandin was not drafted by any NHL team and played four seasons in Sweden's top men's league, two with HV71 Jonkoping and two with Rogle BK Angelholm before signing a one-year deal with the Flyers in 2020. He re-upped with the Flyers on a one-year deal again last season and did the same for the 2022-23 season, signing a 1-year extension back in May, worth $750K.
