Watch: Jack Campbell throws huge hit, lays out Canucks forward
Beloved former Leaf Jack Campbell made his Edmonton Oilers debut last night, which got off to a very nervous start. Campbell allowed 2 goals on the first 4 shots he faced. The Oilers trailed 3-0 at one point, but managed to battle back and win the game 5-3, thanks of course to Connor McDavid, who had a hat trick and a four-point night.
Midway through the third with the game tied at 3, Canucks forward Dakota Joshua was chasing down a loose puck headed towards Campbell. Campbell made a split-second decision to come out of his net to prevent the breakaway and scoring chance. Not only did he clear the puck, but he laid a huge hit on Joshua as he reached for the puck as well.
