In their game earlier today, Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman looked to have slew-footed Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat. During the game itself - and with the referee right there on the scene - no penalties were called except for a retaliatory call on the Wings.

DeBrincat was not injured on the play as he finished the rest of the game, playing 15:25 TOI with 2 shots and 2 PIMs but it was mind blowing that such an obvious call was not made by the on-sight referee.

However, NHL Player Safety caught wind of the play and after the final horn sounded and the Wings celebrated their 4-1 victory, they announced that Hartman will have a hearing tomorrow for "slew-footing/tripping".

Hartman has been suspended twice over in his career with the most recent one coming before the season finale last year, a one-game suspension for interference. Whereas the first one took place during the 2018 playoffs against the Colorado Avalanche for an illegal check to the head of Gabriel Landeskog.
