Last season, the Arizona Coyotes were believed to be looking for a king's ransom in exchange for defenseman Jakob Chychrun. Early reports had the ask for Chychrun from Arizona at two first round picks, a top prospect and potentially a 4th piece. That would have been the equivalent of at least 3 first round picks, possibly more.

Naturally, nobody was going to pay that price. The Sabres didn't even get that for Jack Eichel, a former 2nd overall pick (2015). As the year wore on and the interest in Chychrun dried up a bit, the Coyotes decreased the ask to 3 pieces, which seemed to raise the interest once again. Now, according to Sportsnet's Jeff Marek, the Yotes have decreased their ask yet again.

Per Marek on a recent 32 Thoughts segment, the Coyotes are now looking for the equivalent of two first round picks for Chychrun.

This past week, Michael Traikos of Postmedia had suggested that the Leafs should consider packaging 21-year-old Nick Robertson and a 1st round pick for Chychrun - certainly a lofty price to pay for an oft injured defender who saw his production cut in half last season.

Chychrun, funny enough, hasn't played a full 82-game season in his 6-year NHL career. His career high in games played is 68 games back in 2016-17 - his rookie season.
