With pending unrestricted free agency approaching, Bo Horvat has a difficult decision to make about his tenure with the Canucks. In the final year of his contract and the Canucks struggling horribly to begin the season, going 0-4-2 in their first 6 games, Horvat might not want to wait until the offseason to get out of Vancouver.

"It's been a lot of years in the rebuild stage and. . . at this point in the season, it just feels like it's never going to happen, like we're never going to win again," said a frustrated Horvat following Saturday night's blowout loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

Horvat has 5 points in six games this season, but he is not getting much help from the likes of Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller or others. Horvat has been in rebuild mode with the Canucks for most of his career and his comments are valid for someone that saw the previous success of the Canucks.

Should the Canucks continue to struggle over the next month or so, a trade request from Horvat could be coming sooner than the trade deadline. As much as the Canucks would like to resign their captain, it does not appear that Horvat will be willing to stay if the situation doesn't improve.
