Now 30 years old and in his 13th NHL season, Tyler Seguin is off to a solid start and sitting at a point per game with 2 goals and 5 points in the Stars' first 5 games. After recording just 49 points last season, I'm sure many might view that as a horrendous season for a player making in excess of $9M per season. Knowing now what we didn't know then, it's probably something that should be celebrated.
Seguin was speaking with NHL.com's Mike Zeisberger when he revealed that had contemplated retirement during his recovery from hip surgery.
So far, Seguin has rebounded well after last season and views 2022-23 as a season in which he can produce a lot more.
Now that Seguin is feeling more himself again, it's just about going out there and executing. He's a point-per-game to start the year, so whatever he's been doing and the mindset that he carries with him into each game seems to be working.
