Knies scored a massive OT winner this weekend on a gutsy play, driving hard to the net. It wasn't pretty, but it was plenty effective. However, last night against North Dakota, Knies added another one, which can likely be labelled a "garbage goal", creating a screen in front of the net before finding the loose puck in the crease and tucking it home.
Knies now has 4 goals and 2 assists for 6 points in 6 games this season with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, much to (I'm sure) the delight of Kyle Dubas and the Leafs, who are hoping that another strong year in the NCAA will lead to the newly-minted 20-year-old signing his ELC with the Buds and making his NHL debut this spring and perhaps even joining the Leafs for their playoff run.
