The Anaheim Ducks' season has been off to a rocky start and one of their best players let his emotions get the best of him and took out his frustrations on an opposing player for the Detroit Red Wings.
During tonight's game between the Anaheim Ducks and Detroit Red Wings, goaltender John Gibson and forward Adam Erne got into an altercation behind the net that continued back to Gibson's crease.
The play started when Gibson played the puck and blocked Erne. Both men slashed at each other and then back at the crease, Gibson wound up and drilled Erne in the back of the head, sending him crashing to the ice.
The Duck fell to the Wings today 5-1 and are 1-4-1 on the year to start, so the frustrations are understandable.
