One name that the Leafs are rumoured to have substantial interest in should they walk away from Jack Campbell this summer is St. Louis Blues netminder Ville Husso, who will likely have no shortage of potential suitors if he makes it to free agency. The big question is, will Husso even make it to free agency?
According to Blues rinkside reporter Andy Strickland, the Blues are high on Husso and are expected to make a strong pitch in hopes of retaining him. Strickland also pointed out that Husso has enjoyed his time with the Blues and has "a great relationship" with Blues starting goaltender Jordan Binnington.
I don't envy Leafs GM Kyle Dubas right now. His options are somewhat limited. If Husso decides to stay put, that's one less goalie available on the market, which essentially drives up the price of the remaining UFA netminders - Jack Campbell among them.
