The Toronto Maple Leafs were scheduled to return to action on Monday, December 27th against the Columbus Blue Jackets, but it appears as though that game, along with 13 others, has been postponed.
The news came on Friday, along with the announcement that play is expected to resume on December 28th. Players will still be reporting to their clubs on Boxing Day for testing and practice and the league is expected to provide an update by Sunday night.
Today,
William Nylander was placed into COVID protocol bringing the total number of players in protocol for the Leafs, plus staff members at almost twenty.
Unfortunately this means the Leafs won't be playing Monday in Columbus but as of now it is more important that players are healthy rather than playing.
The Leafs' next game on the schedule is against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Toronto on December 29th.
