What has been an already trying time for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are actively trying to halt the team's current outbreak, has worsened with the team placing a 13th player in protocol on Friday.

The Leafs announced, via their official Twitter account on Friday, that forward William Nylander has been added to COVID protocol, where he'll join both of his linemates, Alexander Kerfoot and John Tavares.

The Leafs also have several coaches and other team personnel in protocol, which does not bode well for the team's upcoming games in Columbus on December 27th and back in Toronto against the Penguins on December 29th.

The Leafs have not played a game since Tuesday, December 14th in Edmonton. They won that game by a score of 5-1 before having games against Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle and St. Louis.
