Midway through the second period, Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov gave the team and all of Leafs Nation a bit of a scare. In an attempt to corral a bouncing puck off the rush, Samsonov reacted awkwardly to a slide across and immediately winced and hunched over.

He was slow to get back to his skates and even when he did remained hunched over until the next tv timeout where he spoke with the training staff. It looked at one point Jett Alexander would be coming in to start the third, but Samsonov managed to finish the majority of the game, before Alexander came in with 1:10 left in the third for a memorable moment in his young career.

Samsonov was asked about his injury following the game saying, "It's OK. I feel good. Just a little bit squeeze & feel like tight, but nothing crazy," before ending his reply with a comical Samsonov quote, "You know, Sammy never break."

With three games left, Samsonov looks like he will be playing two of the three including one possible matchup against Tampa. Then again - if the Leafs can somehow manage to make the cap situation work, they could also recall Joseph Woll and have him play out the remaining games if some additional rest is needed for both Samsonov and Murray, who remains sidelined.
