Sean Avery with some harsh words for Georges Laraque and Matthew Barnaby
Last month, we saw a 41-year-old Sean Avery attempt a comeback to professional hockey with the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears after a decade away from the game. We also saw another pair of former NHLers chomping at the bit to sign ECHL deals of their own for their chance to get a piece of Avery.
On Tuesday, Avery addressed the issue of Matthew Barnaby and Georges Laraque pursuing ECHL contracts for the sole purpose of going after the pest extraordinaire. Here's his Cameo response:
Avery, in true pest fashion, takes multiple shots at both Laraque and Barnaby over their weight and their conditioning, implying that neither would have been able to make the cut for an ECHL team.
I don't know if Avery is aware, but the Florida Everblades had already offered Laraque a contract even without a single workout or skate. Avery may have dodged a bullet, even if he'll never admit it.
