Matt Murray has been largely very good for the Leafs since being acquired from the Ottawa Senators this summer. Yes, he did endure a long layoff due to injury to start the year and yes, he had a brutal outing against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday, but for the most part, Murray has been better than advertised this season and by a pretty wide margin.

During Thursday's game against the Kraken, Murray surrendered 5 goals on 26 shots - 4 of which came during an abysmal 2nd period. That's all it took for a Senators fan account on Twitter (@SensCentral) to dig at Murray and at Leafs Nation. Thankfully, fate was about to deliver a swift reminder that Senators fans have nothing to laugh about.

The Kraken, who were in Toronto on Thursday, were in Ottawa on Saturday to take on the Sens. While the Leafs were dominated 5-1 in their outing against one of the league's top-scoring teams, the Sens were absolutely SHELLED by a final score of 8-4. While Murray did put up a stinker of a SV% with a .808, not one but BOTH Sens goaltenders put up worse save percentages than Murray, with Cam Talbot allowing 5 goals on 19 shots for a .737 SV% and Anton Forsberg allowing 3 goals on 5 shots, posting a brutal .400 SV%. The Athletic's Kevin Papetti made sure to let the Sens fan have it on Twitter.
