Ahead of today's game in Chicago, Leafs Nation has been waiting for updates on a pair of depth players in Calle Jarnkrok and Conor Timmins. On Thursday afternoon, Sheldon Keefe provided those updates. Keefe intimated that the Maple Leafs are preparing for the return of Timmins on Friday. The 25-year-old defenseman has been out of the lineup since the pre-season, but Keefe said that he will make the final ruling just ahead of the game, so there is a chance that he may not play just yet.
Keefe also gave us an update on forward Jarnkrok, who took a shot off the leg during practice yesterday. He was sent for imaging and the news came back positive. Keefe mentioned that Jarnkrok will also be a game-time decision, similar to Timmins.
The Blackhawks currently own the league's 2nd worst record, ahead of only the San Jose Sharks. Whether or not Jarnkrok and Timmins play, the Leafs should still have a solid opportunity ahead to extend their win streak to 5 games. They also have to avenge their loss to the Blackhawks from earlier this season, so this should be an exciting one to watch.
